Let us introduce ourselves
Opened in May 1995, Maureen’s facility is one of Calgary’s premier Equine Boarding and Training Facilities, located in central Alberta near Cochrane only a few minutes west of Springbank and 15 min west of the Calgary city limits.
Kenhold Equestrian Stables is owned and operated by Maureen Kenney. Maureen resides at Kenhold Equestrian Stables and takes pride in managing quality, new, full recently expanded board facility.
Maureen’s farm is known for her high standard of individual care she provides. Kenhold Equestrian Stables welcomes both English and Western Disciplines.
As well as offering horse boarding, Kenhold Equestrian Stables is also well known for the Lesson Horse Programs Maureen provides. Whether on your horse or use of one of Kenhold Equestrian Stables school horses, the focus is on teaching the fundamentals of English riding, with an emphasis toward the discipline of Dressage. From 1998, Maureen has run successful junior and senior lesson program(s).
All lessons programs ran year-round and built to meet individual needs. Whether Beginner or Advanced, you can choose from our (2) CEF Certified Instructors.
Maureen has extensive experience in working with young horses. She has successfully started many horses. Maureen has purchased/trained/ and sold several horses at various levels, and enjoys establishing Foundation Work with horses. Over the years, Maureen has had the opportunity to work with many talented International Dressage Trainers. She continues to travel to work with Leslie Reid (Vancouver), Bonny Bonnello (Alberta), and regularly trains at home with CEF Instructor Shanna MacNeill. All three coaches have been strong Mentors for Maureen.
Her plans include continuation of her training and showing in Vancouver and Alberta, to complete her LI CEF Coaching, and start work on her judging qualifications for Dressage. She hosts and rides in regularly scheduled Dressage clinics with local and internationally recognized trainers. Enjoying all types of horses and levels of riders, Maureen has a keen interest in all modes of training. She has been involved in horses her whole life. She has a long history of involvement in the horse industry in Western Canada, and for the last 25 years in Alberta.
